Gordy Rush, VP/Market Manager of Guaranty Media, was named to the National Association of Broadcasters “Small/Medium Market Radio Committee”. The committee consists of 14 executives from across the United States associated with small and medium-sized radio markets. The committee will assemble in mid-April in Las Vegas as a part of the 2016 NAB Show.
Over twenty years since his last collegiate game, LSU football fans still know Gordy Rush as an intense, hard-hitting special teams player for the Tigers from 1988-1990. The New Orleans native brings that same fire as the Vice-President/Market Manager of Guaranty Broadcasting which includes Eagle 98.1, the Flagship Radio Station for LSU Sports, 100.7 the Tiger, Talk 107.3, and 104.5/104.9 ESPN Baton Rouge. This fall will mark his twenty-fourth season covering LSU football as the Sideline Reporter for the LSU Sports Radio Network, host of Inside LSU Football with Les Miles television show, and host of LSU Gameday Live on Cox Sports Television. Rush remains strongly involved with his alma mater by serving as a member of the TAF Executive Board of Directors, and as the emcee of TAF’s Annual Tiger Tour.
Rush has collected several prestigious awards including the 2013 Louisiana Association of Broadcasters’ “Broadcaster of the Year” given to the state’s top broadcast executive and the 2009 “Golden Mike Award” for the state’s top on-air talent. He became the first person to win both awards and the youngest person to win the “Broadcaster of the Year” at the age of 44. Rush has also been listed twice in Radio Ink Magazine’s list of “50 Great Radio Managers”.
