Guaranty Media congratulates Gordy Rush on being elected as President of The Downtown Business Association. For the last two years Gordy has served as the DBA’s Vice President, and he’s committed to this organization, and the success of Downtown Baton Rouge.
Downtown Business Association Welcomes Two New Board Members and 2018-2019 Executive Committee
Baton Rouge, La. The Downtown Business Association of Baton Rouge (DBA) announced Thursday, July 5 the membership voted two new board members and reelected three incumbents. The 2018-2019 Executive Committee was voted and confirmed during the Tuesday, July 3 Board Meeting.
The two new board members voted in by the full membership are Daniel Stetson, Executive Director of the LSU Museum of Art and Tara Aucoin, owner of several Roly Poly locations, including the downtown restaurant.
Both board members offer unique perspectives on the needs and potential of the downtown area. The board’s commitment to define and grow the cultural and economic identity of downtown will be significantly strengthened by Stetson and Aucoin’s experience, insight and work in the community.
The three incumbents, Libby McKerley of Harris Deville and Associates, Kevin Broussard of Charles W. Lamar Jr. YMCA, and Gordy Rush of Guaranty Media will all serve on the Executive Committee, continuing their commitment to the success of the organization and supporting the association’s membership.
The 2018-2019 Executive Committee was voted and confirmed at the July board meeting on Tuesday, July 2. The Board of Directors voted Gordy Rush as President, John Snow of Emergent Method as Vice President, Libby McKerley as Treasurer and Kevin Broussard as Secretary. Lauralyn Maranto of Visit Baton Rouge will serve on the Executive Committee as the Immediate Past President.

The DBA is a non-profit member organization and produces the popular Live After Five concert series. The organization is hosting its first member conference on August 16 at the Louisiana Old State Capitol. The association represents both downtown and affiliate members; affiliate members being those businesses that have an interest in Downtown Baton Rouge, but are not located within the downtown boundaries.
